Tour Details

Experience breathtaking Grand Canyon sunset views while touring the South Rim in a custom, open-air Pink Jeep® Wrangler. Your first stop at Yavapai Point is the perfect introduction to the Grand Canyon. Here, the eons of erosion reveal layer upon layer of sediment. Your local, certified adventure guide (who is also a Wilderness First Responder) will share the history of the canyon.

Step back in time as you drive by Grand Canyon Village, a historic district that was once a stop for stagecoaches. The village is home to El Tovar and Hopi House, both of which opened in 1905. As you take in views of this bustling hub, it’s easy to get a sense that you’re sharing the street with pioneers of centuries ago.

Enjoy a short, scenic ride to Hermits Rest. This area and its buildings pay tribute to a prospector who carved a trail into the canyon and later lived near Dripping Springs. Hop out of the Jeep and explore the wonders below on a short hike via a rocky path below the rim.

Along the way, your guide will show you how to find real marine fossils and teach you about the canyon’s ancient origins. You’ll also view the Hermit Rapids and other landmarks, such as the long-abandoned Hermit Camp. The hike is 1-mile roundtrip.

Your tour of the Grand Canyon includes park admission fees and a free ticket to the IMAX® Movie, "Grand Canyon: Rivers of Time." This newly released, 35-minute epic IMAX® experience immerses you in the ancient landscape. Soar along the canyon crevasses like an eagle. Feel the rush of the Colorado River rapids with John Wesley Powell and his intrepid explorers. And as the rivers of time unfold, discover the rich history of the landscapes and Native peoples through the first photos ever taken in the Grand Canyon (circa 1872).

Park admission fees are for tour only. Re-entry to the Grand Canyon National Park requires the purchase of a park pass.

IMAX Movie is viewed either before or after your Jeep tour, your choice. Show times are hourly at half-past the hour. Grand Canyon National Park re-entry requires the purchase of a park pass.

  • Minimum age for this tour is 7 years old; ages 7 to 15 qualify for child pricing
  • Tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility.
  • Hike 1-mile round trip on a strenuous, steep and unmaintained rocky trail.
  • Guests must wear closed-toe shoes, bring bottled water, sunscreen, hat and a snack.
  • Tour can be seasonal due to inclement weather; an alternate route is provided.
