Manhattan by Sail offers intimate and thrilling sailing experiences – the perfect way to explore New York’s magnificent harbour. Your sailing adventure will last an hour and a half and you will sail close to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governors Island and the world famous New York.

Choose from:

Clipper City:The original Clipper City was built as a cargo schooner just prior to the US Civil War. It was then rebuilt from the original plans and recently refurbished. The new, restored Clipper City, with a length of 158 feet and a height of 120 feet, can comfortably sail 130 people — the most of any passenger sailboat in the United States. With its sweeping deck, full bar, and a diverse sail plan, this majestic schooner and its attentive crew sail daily from Slip 2 at the South side of Battery Park, providing guests with a unique way to see Manhattan. The Clipper City departs from Pier 17 at 89 South Street.

Shearwater:Be whisked back in time to the Roaring ’20s aboard this beautifully restored 1929 sailing ship. The pinnacle of luxury yachts at the time, the Shearwater is a blue water ocean cruiser which has been around the globe. With a length of 82 feet (larger than the Mayflower) and a width of 16.5 feet, she’s one of largest sailboats built in her era yet her sleek feel provides an intimate experience for up to 37 passengers. Seating is ad-hoc: find a place to sit on a bench, a deck-box or the owner’s favourite spot: directly on the original Rangoon teak deck. A spiral staircase drops you below to check out the exquisite mahogany interior, you’ll be immersed in the Gatsby era and Gilded Age while looking at modern-day New York City skyline. Shearwater departs from North Cove Marina at Brookfield Place.
