Hike one of Jasper’s most scenic peaks and cook up a feast at the top!

Peak-Nic is a 4 KM intermediate hike up a stunning peak followed by a hands-on backcountry cooking demo, where you will learn to prepare your own gourmet meal in the wilderness using efficient expedition cooking methods. Along the way you will identify edible plants, mushrooms, learn about the history and geology of the area and catch a glimpse of wildlife. The best part? You get to eat an amazing meal while enjoying panoramic views.


Daily tours begin from the Old Fort point parking lot (5-minute drive from Jasper townsite). Pick up from any hotels within 10 KM of Jasper is available on request.

Schedule 

Lunch Peak-Nic: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM May 1st to October 15th

Dinner Peak-Nic: 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM June 1st to September 15th


• Includes meal, hiking poles, backpack, all cooking equipment and IGA Certified Guide

• Hotel pickup within 10 KM of Downtown available on request.

• Reasonable fitness levels required. The hike is intermediate and includes some steep sections.

• Participants will be required to carry up to 7 lbs of gear in a pre-loaded backpack.

• Participants must wear hiking shoes and weatherproof layers, bring a personal bottle of drinking water, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Backpacks are provided.

• Minimum age 10 years old

• Minimum 2 people, maximum 6 people *single travellers welcome if a tour is already going.

• Non-refundable if canceled within 7 days. We reserve the right to decline a participant whom we judge unable/unprepared without refund.
