    CATALINA EXPRESS

    Let Catalina Express whisk you away to Catalina Island and the beautiful city of Avalon, a Mediterranean-like town just 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. Travel across the sea in comfort and style aboard the fastest fleet of state-of-the-art passenger vessels. In about an hour, you can be shopping in the island's quaint shops, dining at seaside restaurants, playing golf, bicycling, sightseeing, or just relaxing on the beach.

    Catalina Island is just an hour away with year-round boat transportation and up to 30 departures daily. Boats depart from ports in San Pedro, Long Beach and Dana Point.

    Catalina is only 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. Catalina Express' fleet of eight fast, modern boats make for a quick, easy and fun getaway.

    Zip Line Eco Tour

    For those seeking a breath-taking adventure, look no further. Experience 5 different zip lines at heights of 300 ft. above the canyon floor at speeds pushing 40mph. Enjoy the unique and interesting aspects of Catalina Island, its wildlife and history while propelling high in the hills near Avalon and descending through Descanso Canyon. Eventually exiting near the beach, your journey will last approximately 2 hours, but your memories will last a lifetime.

    Weight Requirements:

    • Participants must weigh between 80 lbs - 240 lbs. (Tandem weight requirements are further explained) All will be weighed in, fully clothed, during the check-in process before each tour. Those unable to meet the requirement will not be permitted to zip and will not be offered a refund or rescheduled.

    Age Requirements / Tandem Rules:

    • Participants at least 10 years of age weighing at least 80 lbs may ride solo. Those weighing less than 80 lbs must ride tandem with another participant of the tour.
    • Children between the ages of 5-9 must ride tandem with another participant at least 18 years of age who will act as the child’s guardian for the length of the tour.
    • Combined weight of tandem riders may not exceed 235 lbs. Participants may not ride tandem with tour guides.
    • Children under the age of 5 are too young to participate. Those unable to meet the age or combined weight requirements will not be permitted to zip and will not be offered a refund or rescheduled.

    Health Requirements:

    • All participants on tour are required to hike short distances, ascend and descend stairs, need to be of average mobility and strength, and in reasonably good health. We do not recommend participation with pre-existing injuries, back, neck, or heart issues. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure whether this activity is suitable for you.
    • If upon arrival it is made clear to the Zipline staff that you are not of adequate mobility, strength, or health, for your safety we do reserve the right to refuse your participation on the tour.
    • Because of the potential health and safety risk to the baby, pregnant guests will not be permitted to participate.

    Additional Information

    Please note we will book the best available sailings available at time of booking to ensure maximum time on Catalina Island. If there are particular times you would like to request please add to the comments and we will do our best to fulfill your requests where possible.

    You will be required to arrive at the terminal 1 hour prior to departure for check-in and boarding. Reservations will only be guaranteed until 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

    Sightseeing tours will be scheduled with your boat departure and return in mind.
